This laboratory is to impart practical knowledge for both UG and PG students, of power electronic components and their applications. This laboratory is equipped with various modules for characteristic curve analysis of power electronic components (viz. diac, triac, thyristors and UJTs) and experimental setup of converters, inverters, choppers and speed control of dc motors. Power Electronics is very useful for Students to understand the concept of power electronics devices. Students can perform experiments like VI characteristics of the power electronic devices, single phase controlled rectifiers, DCDC choppers etc. This Lab is provided with a bread board for testing their own circuits. Power Electronics addresses the application of electronics to energy conversion and control.  Topics covered include: characteristics of power semiconductor devices; modeling, analysis, and control techniques; design of power circuits including ac-ac regulator, inverters, rectifiers, and dc-dc converters; analysis and design of magnetic components and filters; interface between power electronics equipment and utility supply; and application to power supplies, motor drives, and green energy sources.
